New cars for 2017 – the good, the bad and the ugly

New Year, new you - and more importantly a new load of exciting cars to look forward to.

If 2017 is the year you want to buy a new car it’s worth noting whose bringing out new models and face-lifting their old ones.

The last few years have shown that bigger is better with the SUV boom and so in 2017 more car marks than ever are trying to get in on the 4x4 and crossover action; Fiat launches the new Abarth 500X, Citroen with a C3 crossover and then there is the rather special Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

Some really special Super cars hit the headlines this year including LaFerrari Aperta, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage and the Maserati Alfieri.

For fans of all things fast and furious there is a new Honda Civic type R, Mercedes AMG GT roadster and the reworking of the ultimate in rally car the Subaru Impreza.

But in amongst all these roses there’s bound to be a few thorns – here is some of the more... unusual (kinder than ugly) shall we say cars coming to market this year; the Renault Alpine vision, Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo and Kia Niro.
